Mommy's Get-Away

I was able to take a few days and get away from all the hustle and bustle and visit some friends back in North Carolina. I flew to NC and visited my second family! Kathy, John, Jason and his family and Kari and Tim. I had a blast and laughed alot!! Of course I missed my babies but it felt good to get a way for a short time. I also was able to spend a couple days at Kathy and John's beach house!!! THANK YOU!!! I soaked up as much sun as possible!! Here are a few pics from my trip. Oh, while there I drove by my old house and the church dad pastored... talk about a trip back in time!

We survived the first night in the Big Boy Bed!

We made it through last night without any major meltdown! Ben did hop out of hid bed several times and opened and shut his door! Craig or I would walk in there and he had a smile from ear to ear and we would say "Get in your bed" and he would... Finally he fell asleep and made it until about 12:45... He then made his way to our room.. I am just glad we had no screaming fits! Craig is going to the Women's golf tournament so I am praying the next few nights go well! The next obstacle... potty training!!! oh joy!!!

Ben's Big Boy Bed!

We finally got Ben a big boy bed. After many nights of his climbing out of his crib we decided that before we had to make a trip to Children's Hospital that we better break down and buy him a bed. We found the perfect one at Pottery Barn Kids! It matches his other furniture which are all antiques (thank you Mary Ann) perfectly! As I type this I am waiting to see his sweet little face walk into my room. This was the first night of our new routine... no milk... just water in a sippy cup and no rocking just a bedtime story, prayers and a few kisses! He has been in there about 10 minutes... I am keeping my fingers crossed...

Here are a few pictures of our sweet little boy... I was a bit sad that our house would not see another crib until hopefully our grandchildren... which better be a LONG, LONG time... although I did not get sad enough to have another one... we are happy and blessed with our 2!! :)

Katie's Soccer Game

Hopefully you can open the video above. Katie had a blast playing soccer yesterday! She scored 3 times. Craig and I were shocked at how agressive she was! She also played goalie for a while. She blocked a shot and they scored on her once. She did not care a bit! She was all smiles the whole game! It was freezing during the game which made watching it quite chilling! Ben did great and of course ate throughout the whole game! This soccer league is through a local church and has a very postive take on the game. During practice they take time to do a devotion and prayer with the kids! She is also playing on the same team as her friend, Olivia. I have to say they must be the 2 cutest soccer girls ever! Yes, that is my loud mouth screaming in the background! Ha Ha!
